I am a Southern California Abstract painter working professionally for nineteen years. Over the past three years I have sort of rebelled against the use of muddy colors and weathered layers, preferring brighter colors and striving for a lighter more joyous look. I try to simplify forms, while focusing on contours, the interaction of positive and negative space, complimentary and contrasting colors.
My biggest artist influences are Matisse, Picasso, Henry Moore and Stuart Davis.
